CHI (Cosco Shipping Heavy Industries) and GTT have entered into an agreement regarding LNG-as-fuel newbuildings and retrofits, small-scale carriers, FLNGs, etc., projects which correspond to CHI’s strategic development priorities.
The agreement was signed January 18, with the intention of joining forces to better tackle the challenging market and its new orientations by focusing on innovation.
CHI is well established in China, with 10 modernised shipyards and over 30 specialised companies dedicated to provide support to its core business. The Group is in a position to repair and retrofit about 1,500 merchant vessels, to build 11 million DWT new ships annually, and to handle different types of offshore projects.
