Providing a major contribution to cleaner air for Lima’s resident is a new fleet of IVECO public transport buses powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). IVECO Bus together with dealer Motored delivered 42 urban buses CN170E20 to the company Transporte y Servicios Virgen de la Puerta SA (VIPusa) in mid July.
The delivery took place in the city of Lima in the presence of Ricardo França, Commercial Manager of IVECO Bus, Milko Guerovich, Business Manager of Motored and Guillermo Pozo García, Chairman of the Board of VIPusa.
“The new CC170E20 CNG model is an efficient, reliable option and also has great technology in the treatment of emissions, generating a lower impact on the environment. This sale was thanks to a financial operation of the CNH Ind Capital bank, in which we are proud to accompany Motored once again and to continue expanding the IVECO Bus fleet in Peru, ” said Ricardo França.
With the new technology of IVECO Natural Power, the first and most complete range of vehicles 100% powered by CNG, CC170E20 chassis acquired by the Peruvian carrier, has a Multi-Point Common Rail injection system, responsible for generating the lowest consumption of fuel and allowing also a lower emission of polluting gases, less noise pollution.
The chassis CC170E20, manufactured in the plant that IVECO owns in the Cordovan town of Ferreyra, in Argentina, is equipped with an FPT Industrial NEF 6 CNG engine capable of generating power of 200 hp and maximum torque of 650 Nm. The engine complies with the Euro V emission regulations and is supplied by 6 CNG tanks of 27.2 m3 each, allowing the supply of 163.2 m3 of CNG per bus.
