LA Metro, the major operator of bus and rail service in Los Angeles County, California is looking to buy 550 new standard 40-foot compressed natural gas (CNG) buses for 2014 and 2015. Specifically, LA Metro is planning on acquiring 275 buses for 2014 and again in 2015, with options for 250 in 2016 and 100 for contract operators, making a possible total of 900.
Its fleet already numbers more than 2,220 CNG buses. Bids are due April 5 under solicitation OP33202869. More information here.
