Russian truck and bus manufacturer NEFAZ KAMAZ will deliver almost 160 natural gas vehicles (NGVs) to the government-controlled Development Corporation of the Republic of Dagestan, located in the North Caucasus region. The agreement was signed at the Second Dagestan Forum of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, entitled Engineering modernization – the basis of the new economy, which was held in the capital city of Makhachkala.
The contract covers the purchase of 29 NEFAZ City buses. 100 small-capacity NEFAZ buses, and 30 KAMAZ utility vehicles, all powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). NEFAZ ia a subsidiary of PJSC KAMAZ (part of the State Corporation Rostec).
These vehicles and buses will be delivered to the Republic by RariTEK, the official distributor of PJSC KAMAZ for NGV technology, before the end of 2016.
By replacing current fleet vehicles with CNG-powered vehicles, Dagestan aims to significantly reduce the adverse impact of transport on the environment and achieve cost savings.
