Russian automotive manufacturer KAMAZ has opened the Tekhnogazservis service centre in Yugorsk, central Russia, for the maintenance of KAMAZ-manufactured natural gas vehicles (NGVs) and diesel powered vehicles. The service center was opened following many years of fruitful cooperation between RariTEK and Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk in terms of expanding the KAMAZ NGV fleet in the region.

In the open air, the participants of the event were shown a wide range of KAMAZ NGVs owned by Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk LLC. There were NEFAZ buses, a dual-purpose vehicle on KAMAZ-43114, a high-sided KAMAZ-43118 truck with a handling device, a dump truck, a garbage truck, and other KAMAZ vehicles on the exhibition ground.

The company also showed a KAMAZ-65116-34 truck tractor running on methane and a mobile gas refueller with a stationary booster compressor. It is designed to fill vehicles with gas far away from the main network of NGV refill stations. Then, the guests visited a service area, a spare parts store and a center for training drivers and mechanics for the operation and maintenance of KAMAZ NGVs.

Later, a conference was held to discuss issues of creating conditions for the use of natural gas as a motor fuel, as well as the development of the NGV fleet in Khanty-Mansiyskiy AO-Yugra and the business of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk LLC. And there was a show of vehicles in operation at the testing ground in the evening. With its amazing running performance and jumping abilities, a KAMAZ-4911 gas-engine sports truck became the hit of the show.

Throughout 2012 and 2013, RariTEK delivered 99 KAMAZ natural gas vehicles and NEFAZ buses to Gazprom`s department. Therefore, it was a logical step in the development of the companies’ cooperation to establish KAMAZ’s official service center.
