IVECO Brings Natural Power to TEN-T in Ljubljana

| Slovenia: Ljubljana

IVECO Natural Power range at TEN-T SloveniaThe ninth edition of the TEN-T 2018 Conference, held last week in Ljubljana, Slovenia, was complemented by Italian vehicle manufacturer IVECO with a display of its full range of natural gas vehicles. The event, which has focused on infrastructure policies in the European Union, brought together Ministers, members of the European Parliament and key operators in the transport sector, providing opportunity to become acquainted with these low emission vehicles.

Participants at the TEN-T conference came together to analyze the synergies that can be established between transport, the energy sector and digital connectivity, to help implement an intelligent, sustainable and safe mobility model based on the trans-European transport network (TEN-T).

Among the topics discussed during the conference, a specific session was dedicated to the aspects related to alternative energies, their commercial aspects, the objectives and the political measures to be adopted. IVECO – the only truck manufacturer that has participated in the event – has shown its range of vehicles powered by natural gas, offering at the same time the possibility of testing its Daily Hi-Matic Natural Power van model.

Pierre Lahutte, World President of the IVECO brand, said: “We develop electric vehicles such as our city buses or the same electric model of the Daily family for the “last mile logistics” and missions within large congested urban centers. At the same time, IVECO is clearly betting on methane and biomethane (renewable natural gas) as viable and concrete alternatives to the use of diesel, within a wide range of applications and in order to offer an economically sustainable transport model, thanks to a drastic reduction in the levels of CO 2 emissions from production to transport, within a philosophy called From Well to Wheel.”

Vehicles on display

Daily Hi-Matic Natural Power commercial van, made available for driving tests during the conference, won the “International Van of 2018” award. It is the first light commercial vehicle powered by CNG with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Under real driving conditions and within an urban context, the level of CO emissions is 5% lower than the emission level of its diesel version equivalent and, if biomethane is used the emission level is close to zero. The vehicle also guarantees great energy savings thanks to the low price of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas / Compressed Natural Gas) which translates into savings of 35% compared to its equivalent diesel version.

Iveco Eurocargo 2015

Eurocargo Natural Power

Eurocargo Natural Power truck is fitted with a CNG six-cylinder engine, with a maximum torque of 750 Nm and a power of 210 Hp. Its characteristics and its load capacity are the same as those of its equivalent diesel version. Its maximum autonomy is 400 km. Known as “the truck that appeals to cities” and part of the Eurocargo range awarded with the recognition of “International Truck of the Year 2016”, the Eurocargo Natural Power is the ideal vehicle for urban missions, thanks to its low level of emissions and its silence (sound emissions below 72dB, according to the Piek test and certification) that allow you to work in areas where there are traffic restrictions and at any time, even at night.

Stralis NP 460, named in the United Kingdom “Low Carbon Truck of the Year”, is the first natural gas truck designed specifically for long-distance transport. It belongs to the only complete range of heavy natural gas trucks that have a state-of-the-art automatic transmission system, designed to guarantee the perfect combination of sustainability, performance, productivity and autonomy, even in the most demanding long-distance transport missions. of merchandise. The vehicle can operate with the energy of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), with a power of 460 hp.

The Stralis NP 460, in its unique version of LNG, guarantees an autonomy of up to 1,600 km, together with a drastic reduction in the level of emission of particles and NOx within the Euro VI Regulation which are reduced by 95%. The level of acoustic emissions has also been drastically reduced, which does not reach 71 dB, which guarantees an extremely silent operation. The truck has the best and most advanced technological tools of IVECO for energy saving, which translates into a reduction of 9% of the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) with respect to the diesel truck model. In short, the revolutionary Stralis NP 460 truck gives transport operators a significant competitive advantage, while allowing them to offer truly sustainable logistics solutions.

IVECO Crossway Natural PowerIVECO BUS Crossway Low Entry Natural Power is a low floor 12 meter bus. It has been specially designed for urban missions and interurban passenger transport, and complies with all environmental regulations. It has been named “Sustainable Bus of the Year 2018 / Sustainable Bus of the Year 2018)” in the Intercity category. The CNG tanks on the roof allows maximized internal height and increases the versatility to enable working in any condition, thanks to a total height that is the lowest among those available in the market (3,210 mm). With a range of up to 600 km and efficient Cursor 9 NP engine, this vehicle is especially respectful of the environment.
