Iranian automotive manufacturer IKCO will produce at least 120 thousand EF7 engines by the end of this Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2013). IKCO currently produces 300 sets of EF7 engines a day and aims to ramp up the figure to 500.
In 2010 and 2011, IKCO successively produced 25 and 65 thousand sets of EF7 engines, 70 percent of which were CNG-based type. Based on the same percentage, 84 thousand engines will be CNG versions this year.
The intellectual property of EF7 belongs to IKCO. It comes in CNG-based, turbocharged, gasoline and diesel types. IKCO has gained the latest technologies in powertrain production during the process of designing and developing EF7 engine.
