In order to tap the global LNG market opportunities, GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz), developer of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) membrane containment systems, is opening a subsidiary in Houston, Texas. GTT explains LNG has become an alternative and efficient energy as a marine fuel, less polluting than HFO and potentially less costly than other alternatives. In this context, to serve new market opportunities as well as strengthening its relationship with North American LNG market as a whole, GTT has opened GTT North America.

The new subsidiary based in Houston will concentrate on the use of LNG as a marine fuel for commercial vessels. This will require the design and construction of small scale LNG carriers or bunker barges, small scale LNG storage tanks and LNG fuel tanks for larger commercial vessels.

The Houston team has been assigned the task of promoting technologies, applications and GTT services and to place GTT as a legitimate and essential player in the LNG fuel tank market with ship-owners, operators and engineering companies.
