The Community of Madrid continues to add Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to its public transport network to improve the quality of the air that is breathed in the region. The most recent arrival of 17 CNG buses has been welcomed by the Minister of Transportation, Housing and Infrastructure, Rosalía Gonzalo.
These vehicles are added to the more than 470 buses of the interurban fleet of the region that already incorporate less polluting fuels or hybrid technology to reduce emissions to the atmosphere, the Minister explained.
Of the new buses, 14 belong to Empresa Martín SA and the other three join the fleet of the Empresa Ruiz. They will serve users in locations such as Leganés, Madrid, Perales de Tajuña, Villarejo de Salvanés and Fuentidueña.
Apart from the positive impact on the environment, passengers will also notice a noise reduction of up to 50% compared to a conventional diesel bus.
