The Canadian Natural Gas Vehicles Alliance (CNGVA) has recently been joined by new members Shell Canada and Peterbilt Canada; both will allocate representatives to CNGVA’s Board of Directors. At the same time CNGVA has expanded capacity to serve its members, by restructuring the Board, engaging a summer Communications Intern, and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CGA (Canadian Gas Association) focused on leveraging existing resources to the benefit of both associations.
Shell Canada, one of Canada’s largest integrated oil and gas companies with major natural gas exploration and development in Alberta and offshore Nova Scotia, will join the Board as a direct voting member.
Peterbilt Canada, part of North America’s Peterbilt Motors Company, a manufacturer of Class 6-8 trucks, joins the Board as representative for OEMs.
The CNGVA Board plans to hold this year’s annual general meeting and strategic planning session in late 2011 at the premises of energy company FortisBC, with all CNGVA members welcome to attend.
Communications Intern, Elissa Hanna, has been updating the CNGVA’s website, issuing correspondence to incoming federal Ministers and MPs, and beginning to work on key messages, case studies, and other new communications initiatives.
As part of the MOU, the CNGVA is also working with CGA to recruit a bilingual communications staff person for Fall 2011.
