Finland_Gasum LNG LCNG Station airport Dec2017 (1)Chart says it has commissioned a fourth permanent fueling station for natural gas vehicles in Finland, the latest situated close to Helsinki Vantaa airport, which is now open to the public and has served its first customers. The public station is owned and operated by Finnish gas sector expert Gasum.

The new station is further helping to develop the country’s natural gas vehicle fueling infrastructure alongside its other Chart designed and built counterparts in Helsinki Vuosaari, Turku and Jyväskylä.

Commenting on this latest addition to the fueling network, Mr. Pavel Mátl, Business Director Chart Ferox, said, “Chart shares the view that natural gas will play an increased role in the transport sector. Strict emissions targets and concerns about CO2 footprint, mean that LNG/LBG is fast becoming accepted as the future fuel for heavy haulage vehicles. It’s very exciting to see the commitment of major truck OEMs, through the availability of modern LNG powered vehicles, and progressive companies, like Gasum, investing in the fueling infrastructure to keep demand and supply in tandem.”

As the market evolves, so does Chart’s fueling station design. This latest installation is equipped to serve various types of LNG fueled trucks and incorporates a CNG module and dispenser for cars and vans, which can accommodate two vehicles simultaneously. Safety, reliability, zero emissions to atmosphere and operator comfort are paramount and the station incorporates many associated features.

The payment terminal for debit and credit cards is integral to the dispensing islands and Chart technology keeps fueling times consistent with those for diesel fueled vehicles.Source: Chart – a corporate member of NGV Global
