CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, it taking delivery of its first natural gas vehicles. The result of a tender process that called for vehicles with best environmental and economic credentials, the Fiat Panda Natural Power was selected because “it offered the most cost effective way to reduce our environmental impact,” James Gillies, head of CERN’s Communication Group told NGV Global News.
The compressed natural gas powered Pandas will replace existing assets in CERN’s fleet of approximately 800 light vehicles.
“We will use public filling stations, but efforts have been made to ensure that there is a station close to CERN,” added Gillies.
