Methane-Powered Agricultural Tractor Trials in Spanish Vineyard
Bodegas Torres, a historical wine growing company located in Pacs del Penedes, Spain has conducted the first trial in Spain of a second-generation New Holland T6 methane tractor under a collaboration agreement with the Italian manufacturer, part of CNH Industrial. New Holland first unveiled the prototype T6.140 Methane Power tractor at Agritechnica 2015 as part of its sustainability approach to ‘Energy Independent Farming’, a goal shared by Bodegas Torres. Arch Coal Chooses More GFS LNG Conversions for Komatsu Haulers
Arch Coal’s Black Thunder Mine, located in Wright, Wyoming, has ordered 10 EVO-MT 9300 LNG Conversion Systems for installation on Komatsu 930E haul trucks. The order, placed with GFS Corp., follows adoption of GFS LNG systems in 2014 and is part of Arch Coal’s ongoing program to assess the benefits of using liquid natural gas (LNG) in their mining operations. Valtra Dual-Fuel Tractor Awarded Silver Medal in Moscow
Finnish tractor manufacturer Valtra, Inc., has been awarded the silver medal at the Agrosalon exhibition in Moscow in early October, for its N103.4 HiTech Dual Fuel tractor. The jury praised especially the low operating costs of the dual-fuel tractor, which can run on diesel and either biogas or natural gas. Tenaska NG Fuels, LLC and Waller Marine, Inc. say they have agreed to develop, construct, own and operate Louisiana’s first natural gas liquefaction and fueling facility along the New Orleans-Baton Rouge Mississippi River corridor with access to the Gulf of Mexico.
Located in the Port of Greater Baton Rouge area near major highway traffic thoroughfares and high-horsepower industries, Tenaska Bayou LNG will provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) as alternative clean-burning fuels for the high-horsepower marine, transportation, and natural gas and oil exploration and production industries in the region. Alpha NR Mine Haul Trucks Get LNG
U.S. coal supplier Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (ANR), is to have a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant constructed on property adjacent to Alpha Coal West Inc.’s Eagle Butte Mine, near Gillette, Wyoming, by Plum Energy LLC. The facility will supply LNG to Alpha Coal West’s mine haul vehicles, producing cost efficiencies and fuel savings for its mining operations. Read more »
