Kenworth used the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January to display its zero-emission T680 day cab equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell. The vehicle is part of the Zero Emission Cargo Transport (ZECT) demonstration project managed through Southern California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). Spanish freight transporter Transportes Agustín Martínez is firmly committed to road transport vehicles powered by natural gas. 17% of its current fleet uses natural gas. To these vehicles are now added two new IVECO Stralis NP (Natural Power) units. Iveco says the heavy duty model delivers the same power as its diesel equivalent. Read more »
Polish manufacturer Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. has signed a contract with Ostrava-based Dopravní Podnik for 40 new Solaris Urbino 12 CNG buses, powered by Cummins ISL G 239 kW engines. It is the second-biggest order ever of compressed natural gas vehicles of the Polish manufacturer in the Czech Republic. Read more »
Lyon based bus manufacturer Iveco Bus, with some 6,000 natural gas powered buses currently operating in Europe, says it is delivering the first-ever high-value CNG buses on the African continent. In Mexico’s western state of Jalisco, Mexican bus manufacturer Dina (part of the Grupo Empresarial G consortium) presented the Linner G and Runner 9G buses to Unibus PV at the end of last week. The public transportation company has ordered 327 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses in total to replace its ageing fleet. Read more »
Landi Renzo USA Corporation, the California-based company of Italy’s Landi Renzo Group, gained U.S. EPA CNG certification for MY2018 Ford F-450/550, F-650/750, F-59 & E-450 with 6.8L gaseous prep engines last week. This week it has added EPA certification for the MY2018 Ford F-250/350 CNG product. Read more »
At Spain’s National Transport Awards event, held in Madrid on January 17, Iveco was acclaimed with two awards for its natural gas vehicles – ‘Industrial Light Vehicle of the Year’ and ‘Truck of the Year’. The awards are conferred by Spanish editorial group Editec, which published specialised transportation journals Transporte 3 and Viajeros.
