Globally, natural gas mobility is an evolving industry that continues to thrive, expand and consolidate despite market challenges. Natural gas vehicles (NGV) operate in more than 80 countries and natural gas propulsion is taking vessels along inland waterways and across oceans. Regulations and standards are a vital component of this industry.

Such is the context in which several documents were tabled at the UNECE Group of Experts on General Safety (GRSG) meeting on 10-13 April 2018 in Geneva. NGV Global was in attendance to ensure the best interests of the worldwide natural gas for transportation industry were kept to the fore. Discussed were proposed changes to UNECE R.110 (CNG/LNG Vehicles) including CNG cylinder inspections, and expansion to applications for on-board vehicle appliances. Read more »

There he explained the Spanish industry’s ability to innovate and adapt to new challenges, such as mobility in urban centres and the emergence in the use of renewable energies. IVECO takes Natural Gas Powered Vehicles to Intermat 2018

The Italian vehicle manufacturer says their range answers French President Macron’s call for the conversion of the country’s heavy truck fleets to gas at the European Commission’s High-level Conference on Financing Sustainable Growth held in Brussels on March 22nd 2018: “It is also about committing resolutely to a transformation of the transport sector, through a widespread use of electric and hydrogen vehicles and the conversion of heavy freight to gas.” Read more »

Big Blue Bus to Upgrade Fleet with Near-Zero NG Engines

Big Blue Bus CNGBig Blue Bus (BBB), serving Santa Monica and the Los Angeles area, has planned a new phase of fleet upgrades, which include further reduction of vehicle emissions. Buses will be equipped with Cummins-Westport Near-Zero engines and fueled by Renewable Natural Gas, to further reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) vehicle emissions over 90% by December 2018.
