EC Approves Alternative-fuel Funding for Czech Republic

The European Commission (EC) approved a measure this week that will see increased deployment of alternative-fuel vehicles in the Czech Republic. New Texas Bill Says Government Fleets Must Buy Alt-Fuel
In the U.S. State of Texas, the Texas Fuels bill recently passed through both the House (HB 1979) and Senate (SB 26). The legislation provides state grants for government entities with more than 15 vehicles to purchase vehicles that use natural gas. State Rep. Brooks Landgraf, co-sponsor of the bill, said that for the first time, Texas will commit to providing state grants for governmental entities to purchase vehicles that utilize the abundant natural gas widely found in the state. France’s ID Logistics Receives First Bio-CNG Trucks
At the Forum des Solutions Ecoresponsables – Logistique Froid Innovation, an event held this week in Essone devoted to ecofriendly initiatives for innovation in the cold chain, IVECO formally handed over the keys to ID Logistics’ first two trucks running on Bio-CNG. Republic Services Cuts GHGs with Renewable Natural Gas
Republic Services, an industry leader in U.S. recycling and non-hazardous solid waste, will increase its usage of renewable natural gas (RNG) by three times what it used in 2016 through an expanded agreement with Clean Energy Fuels Corp. Kenworth Explores Hybrid-Electric Trucking with CWI ISL G Near Zero Engine
Kenworth Truck Company is developing a prototype series hybrid-electric T680 day cab designed to produce near-zero-emissions. The truck will use the currently available Cummins Westport ISL G Near Zero NOx engine fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG) to generate electrical power.
