EC Approves Alternative-fuel Funding for Czech Republic

The European Commission (EC) approved a measure this week that will see increased deployment of alternative-fuel vehicles in the Czech Republic. New Texas Bill Says Government Fleets Must Buy Alt-Fuel

In the U.S. State of Texas, the Texas Fuels bill recently passed through both the House (HB 1979) and Senate (SB 26). The legislation provides state grants for government entities with more than 15 vehicles to purchase vehicles that use natural gas. State Rep. Brooks Landgraf, co-sponsor of the bill, said that for the first time, Texas will commit to providing state grants for governmental entities to purchase vehicles that utilize the abundant natural gas widely found in the state. Kenworth Explores Hybrid-Electric Trucking with CWI ISL G Near Zero Engine

The truck will use the currently available Cummins Westport ISL G Near Zero NOx engine fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG) to generate electrical power.
