Megastar bunkers LNG via Elenger at HelsinkiEesti Gaas, the Estonian gas supply company, says its newly-formed international subsidiary Elenger has commenced Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering services in the port of Helsinki. The ship being bunkered is the same that Eesti Gaas bunkers in the port of Tallinn, the shuttle Megastar, which cruises between Helsinki and Tallinn. Read more »

La Mont Blanche biogas plant inaugurated Jun 2019Xavier Roy and Jean-Pierre Lacuisse, farmers in the Marne communes of Fère Champenoise and Lenharrée in north-eastern France, have officially inaugurated the site of La Monte Blanche in the presence of elected officials, ADEME and local economic actors. This biogas plant will use 10,000 tonnes of inputs annually to supply fuel equivalent to that used by 70 buses running on natural gas. Read more »

Volvo Says TNO Tests Prove Suitability of LNG as Truck Fuel

Volvo FH LNG refuellingThe Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), an organisation independent of government and commercial influence, has completed tests of the Volvo FH LNG truck. TNO has found that under representative conditions for long-distance transport in the Netherlands CO2 emissions from the exhaust of the Volvo FH LNG truck are almost 20% lower than those of TNO-tested Euro 6 diesel trucks. The saving is considerable, especially when deployed on the highway, namely a 23% reduction in CO2. Read more »
