ABS to Class First LNG/Diesel/Battery Vessel for Harvey Gulf

Harvey EnergyAmerican Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has been selected to class two Offshore Supply Vessels (OSV) being retrofitted with a battery/converter system by Harvey Gulf International Marine. The Harvey Energy will become the first ABS-classed dual-fuel (LNG/marine diesel) and battery vessel and the first U.S. flagged OSV equipped with a battery/converter system. Continuing California’s drive toward clean fuel adoption, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and California Bioenergy LLC (CalBio) are to jointly invest in a holding company with California dairy farmers to produce and market dairy biomethane as a vehicle fuel in the state. The holding company, CalBioGas LLC, secured funding from Chevron to build infrastructure for dairy biomethane projects in California’s San Joaquin Valley, adding to the investment from dozens of dairy farmers.
