U.S. companies Clean Methane Systems LLC, a biogas-to-energy systems company, and EIP Ventures, LLC, a strategic advisor and asset manager in the renewable energy sector, have entered into a joint venture named “EcoRNG” to develop more than 10 million gallons of renewable fuels from waste streams at landfills, waste water treatment facilities and dairies throughout Oregon. Two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) powered catamaran ferries commissioned by Rederij Doeksen are currently in transit from Strategic Marine’s Vietnam shipyard to The Netherlands where they will operate on the ferry route from Harlingen to the Dutch islands of Vlieland and Terschelling. The Scania R 410 tractor units will be evenly split between KP Logistik’s centres in Stavenhagen and Wustermark, near Berlin. The trucks will be used for deliveries of dry, refrigerated and frozen foods, primarily to retailers Netto’s and Norma’s stores in eastern Germany, including Berlin. Read more »

Classification society DNV GL has presented ShipInox, a Norwegian-based company from Stavanger, with an Approval in Principle (AiP) for its new small-scale LNG carrier/bunker vessel design. It is the first ever class-approved design based on an offshore supply vessel (OSV). With a length of 92 meters the ship will have a carrying capacity of 6,000 cubic meters. Read more »
