Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has opened a fresh round of funding to support the development and demonstration of new downstream natural gas technology including funding for projects related to natural gas fuel for transportation. The application period for the SD Natural Gas Fund is now open and and will remain open through April 13th, 2016.
“SDTC helps bridge the gap between research and market entry for Canadian cleantech projects,” said Leah Lawrence, CEO of SDTC, “Our funding and support comes at a critical time for many clean technology companies, allowing them to develop and demonstrate their technologies prior to product commercialization.”
SDTC’s mandate is not only to fund promising Canadian cleantech projects but to also coach the companies that lead them as they move their technologies towards market. Added Ms. Lawrence, “We encourage cleantech innovators and pioneers to find out how SDTC can help support them in their next stages of project development and demonstration.”
The SD Natural Gas Fund™ acts in collaboration with the Canadian Gas Association and supports the development and demonstration of new downstream natural gas technology. The funds stated focus for transportation is “more efficient and lower emission natural gas engines, alternative natural gas engines, lower-cost solutions”.
