The government of British Columbia recently created a business development plan for the province, aimed at attracting international investment and building employment opportunities for its people. The plan, ‘Canada Starts Here: The BC Jobs Plan’ includes a commitment to promote and support the use of natural gas as a transportation fuel, for both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). Starting December 1, that part of the plan gets underway with the implementation of CAD 17 million (USD 16.7 million) funding to help consumers buy clean energy vehicles (CNG, electric, hybrid). The fund will provide up to $5,000 off the sticker price for qualifying vehicles.
