India’s specialist light vehicle manufacturer Bajaj Auto has added to its range of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered options with the introduction of the Bajaj Maxima C CNG three-wheeler cargo vehicle. It is priced at Rs 1,89,075 ex-showroom, New Delhi (USD 2,830).
The Maxima C CNG variant is rated to BS-IV emissions standard in India. It is powered by a 199 cc, 4-stroke engine which develops around 9.4 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque @ 3,750 rpm. The mini truck is also equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission and wet multi-plate clutch for a smooth gear change and improved power transfer.
With a wheel base of 2.125 metres and power suspension system, the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 990 kgs and payload capacity of 452 kgs. The loading area dimensions (LWH) are 1.65 m x 1.425 m x .275 m.
