Indian natural gas supplier Aavantika Gas Limited (AGL) plans to add six compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations to the 14 already operational in Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India, reports the Economic Times.
Responding to increased demand, AGL will build four CNG stations in Indore, the state’s largest city, and two in the northern city of Gwalior. A CNG mother station will reportedly also be built in Ujjain, to Indore’s west. The increased availability of CNG in these cities is expected to reduce transport-generated pollution.
AGL was established as a joint venture company by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in 2005.
