Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has recently opened two compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations at Yas Island, a strategic location for the provision of fuel for vehicles traveling the Sheikh Khalifa Highway.
The new stations are part of ADNOC’s plan, announced 2011, to roll out CNG infrastructure and conversion centres to facilitate the growth of natural gas vehicle (NGV) adoption across the UAE.
Incorporating Bauer Kompressoren compressor technology, the stations have multiple dispensers for refuelling up to six vehicles simultaneously.
Through its CNG conversion centres, ADNOC Distribution has thus far converted about 2900 taxis and cars to natural gas fuel.
