Toward the end of 2016, MAN Truck & Bus Italy won a tender for the supply of 14 MAN Lion’s City CNG 12m to Trentino Transports S.p.A., for local and regional public transportation. One of Trentino’s primary objectives is the promotion and development of a mobility system that guarantees all citizens access to service, taking care to reduce pollution and environmental impact, with the aim of increasing the use of public transport compared to private vehicle.
Over several years the company has been engaged in the testing and use of resources and innovative technologies to the development of a ‘clean and sustainable mobility’. It is in this context that the order for the MAN Lion’s City CNG buses was placed.
MAN says the MAN Lion’s City CNG bus range, with models available from 12m to the articulated 18.75m, is suited for all types of urban transportation applications. The Lion’s City CNG straight six, 12.8 litre engine is rear-mounted in a horizontal position and available in two power levels 272 PS (200 kW) and 310 PS (228 kW).
