BAF Teams Up With Landi Renzo in US

December 2, 2008

USA, Dallas

BAF Technologies (natural gas vehicle upfits) says it has been chosen by Landi Renzo (natural gas and propane vehicle fuel systems and components) to be one of its cooperative options for testing and marketing bi-fuel vehicle conversions and systems in the United States. The two companies will work together to secure EPA certification for several sedan models through a joint effort between their engineering and manufacturing teams. BAF will market and sell the bi-fuel vehicle conversions as well as provide fuel systems and training to their authorized conversion partners and dealers. “With the current fueling infrastructure in the US, a bi-fuel vehicle is a terrific option,” says John Bacon, BAF’s president. “Our goal is to offer a bi-fuel vehicle conversion for less than $10,000. By making converted vehicles more affordable, we increase market adoption which in turn will increase demand for more CNG fueling stations resulting in more options for the consumer. That’s when real change will happen.” Research and development on the new system is beginning immediately and the first EPA-certified, sellable units are expected in the first quarter of 2009.
