Arrow CNG Compressor Enters NGV Fuelling Market

February 26, 2010 | USA, Bloomfield Hills, MI

TriMas Corporation (TMC), a diversified global manufacturer of engineered and applied products, has announced that Oklahoma-based Arrow Engine Company (Arrow), part of the company’s energy segment, has introduced a newly designed two-throw separable reciprocating gas compressor for use in the compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle fueling market. The VRC-CNG compressor is rated up to 125-horsepower and is capable of four stages of compression.

“Arrow is proud to be a part of the rapidly growing CNG market for vehicle refueling,” commented Len Turner, President of Arrow Engine Company.

The CNG compressor has been designed to deliver the high pressures required for vehicle fuel systems from commonly available utility natural gas supply pressures at flow rates up to approximately 2 gallons per minute (gasoline equivalent). On the higher end of this spectrum, the CNG compressor has the capability of filling over 280 CNG Honda Civics per day.
