ANGVA Plans CNG Cylinder Inspection Courses

May 5, 2010 | Thailand and Malaysia

The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association (ANGVA) is building expertise in the region by running two CNG Cylinder Inspection Courses, one each in Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The first course, in Bangkok, will run from 23rd to 25th June 2010. The second course, in Kuala Lumpur, will run from 28th to 30th June 2010. Authorities in both countries are considering accrediting course graduates as certified inspectors.

Bangkok

The Authority for periodic inspection of CNG Cylinders in Thailand is the Energy Business Department (EBD), Ministry of Energy Thailand. ANGVA says the EBD is supportive of this course and is considering recognizing successful participants as inspectors to conduct periodic inspection of CNG Cylinders manufactured to ISO 11439 and UN ECE R110 standards in Thailand. The Thailand NGV Association (TANGV) is finalizing the programme and registration process, and also seeking sponsorships for this course.

Kuala Lumpur

The Authority for periodic inspection of CNG Cylinders in Malaysia is the Road Transport Department, Ministry of Transport Malaysia. The Road Transport Department is supportive of this course and is considering recognizing those successfully completing this course as inspectors to conduct periodic inspection of CNG Cylinders manufactured to ISO 11439 and UN ECE R110 standards in Malaysia.

Information and registration details are available at www.angva.org.
