The Asia-Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA) is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Executive Director. The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the Association’s Secretariat will be relocated in the next few months. Applicants should have extensive experience in one of more aspects of the natural gas vehicle industry and should have strong communication and coordination skills. JOB DESCRIPTION – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ASIA PACIFIC NATURAL GAS VEHICLE ASSOCIATION
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association (ANGVA). He/She represents ANGVA at public forums. delivers presentations at conferences and workshops and attends various meetings with the NGV industry, all levels of government, non-government organisations and ANGVA members. He/She is also responsible for the preparation of position papers to support the Associations aims and objectives. Key functions of the Executive Director’s include, but are not limited to:
Policy Making.
The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing the policies established by the ANGVA Board. These include external political and strategic activities related to the main mission of ANGVA and internal organizational activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the ANGVA Board, committees and general meetings. Specifically he/she must provide a balanced evaluation of various policy options for consideration by the ANGVA Board and members and strong leadership to ensure their effective implementation.
Communications.
The Executive Director is the principal spokesperson for ANGVA and is required to communicate frequently with government and public bodies, corporations, the media and ANGVA members. He/She is responsible for developing ANGVA communication instruments, including the ANGVA Matters newsletter, the website, publications, press releases etc. The Executive Director also responds to requests for information from members and non-members.
Conferences, Workshops and Seminars.
The Executive Director has overall responsibility for the organization of all ANGVA meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars.These include meetings for ANGVA members as well as those targeted at general audiences. In many instances the Executive Director will lead or chair the meetings.
Administration.
The Executive Director bears full responsibility for the smooth running of ANGVA’s administration. He/She is responsible for developing the annual budget and for controlling income and expenditure, for developing administrative procedures and for preparing papers for approval of the ANGVA Board. The Executive Director is also responsible for all personnel matters related to the ANGVA staff.
