Organizers of the upcoming ANGVA 2007 Conference and Exhibition have released a comprehensive conference program , featuring more than 65 papers over the three day event. Conference Organizer, Brett Jarman, says the program caters for the diverse needs of industry stakeholders, with content suitable for fleet operators, policy makers, regulators, and industry manufacturers and service providers alike. “We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure there is something for everyone in the program. Coupled with a three day exhibition of more than 5,000 square metres, two technical tours on the day preceding the event and a Safety Workshop on the day following, ANGVA 2007 looks set to be the largest and most comprehensive event for the industry this year.”

The conference is divided into three broad streams covering innovations, market activity and policy in action, and a technical stream. The innovations stream in particular has been chosen to fit with the broader conference theme – “The Future is Now.” One highlight of the innovations stream is expected to be the presentation of a paper on BASF CNG adsorbent technology, currently under international trial and to be presented for the first time at ANGVA 2007. (Keep watching NGV Global for an upcoming feature on this technology).

OEM presence demonstrates Asian market maturity

A strong turnout for an OEM natural gas vehicle manufacturer’s panel discussion demonstrates the strength and maturity of the Asian natural gas vehicle (NGV) marketplace, which has grown on average at 50% for the past 5 years. Representatives from international giants General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota and Cummins as well as local suppliers Monika Motors and Distar Buses will deliver perspectives and product availability to delegates ahead of an open discussion chaired by ENGVA Chairman and former Volvo executive Peter Boisen. OEMs also feature strongly in the three day trade exhibition lineup.

Safety and standards at forefront

Reflecting ANGVA’s commitment to safety, the program also includes an Industry Forum on safety and standards, including an update on a global harmonization of standards process as well as in service experiences related by regulators from Thailand and Pakistan. A Safety Workshop to be held on the day following the conference has been included to supplement the information gained over the course of the conference.

Early bookings advised

Delegates are advised to book early not just for the event but also for travel and accommodation arrangements. Preferential rates for hotels are due to expire within the next few weeks, while the peak travel season is also putting pressure on inward and outbound air flights.

NB – Catering to the international audience, most papers will be translated simultaneously into Mandarin and Thai.
