Indonesia Explores LNG for Rail

Pertamina and KAI trial LNGIndonesia’s oil and gas corporation PT Pertamina (Persero) and railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), both state-owned, are testing Liquefied Natural gas (LNG) as a fuel for rail transportation. Static and dynamic tests have been carried out at Balai Yasa, the rail services yard in Yogyakarta. Activities that are part of the rail conversion program from high speed diesel (HSD) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) are said to be the first in Southeast Asia. Read more »

One thousand new Hexagon Raufoss Type IV cylinders have been ordered by PT Autogas in Indonesia, for conversion of taxis and government vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG), reports parent company Hexagon Composites. ANGVA Forum Provides Indonesian Update on Natural Gas

The Forum, held on 23rd and 24th Feb, was attended by around 80 delegates from local and overseas companies and organizations. Wärtsilä Dual-Fuel Propulsion for First Indonesian CNG Carrier

CNG HantongA Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) carrier vessel being built at the Jiangsu Hantong shipyard in China is to be powered by an integrated Wärtsilä dual-fuel propulsion system. The vessel has been ordered by CIMC ENRIC and designed by CIMC ORIC for end user Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the Indonesian state owned energy company.
