Project overview: proposed CNG Stations
Japanese research and development government agency New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), together with Toyota Motor Corporation, Hino Motors Corp., Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Toho Gas Engineering Co., Ltd., with assistance from Nippon Automobile Research Institute, aim to expand the presence of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles in Indonesia. Hexagon Composites’ subsidiary Hexagon Raufoss has recently received orders from PT Autogas in Indonesia for CNG cylinders for conversion of 5,000 taxis and government vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG). Deliveries are scheduled for second quarter of 2017. Read more »
In order to support the government’s policy to optimize the utilization of natural gas as a domestic fuel, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) held its 11th Natural Gas Vehicle & Infrastructure Indonesia Forum and Exhibition a few weeks ago in Jakarta. Indonesia’s oil and gas corporation PT Pertamina (Persero) and railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), both state-owned, are testing Liquefied Natural gas (LNG) as a fuel for rail transportation. Static and dynamic tests have been carried out at Balai Yasa, the rail services yard in Yogyakarta. Activities that are part of the rail conversion program from high speed diesel (HSD) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) are said to be the first in Southeast Asia. Read more »
Hexagon Raufoss CNG System
One thousand new Hexagon Raufoss Type IV cylinders have been ordered by PT Autogas in Indonesia, for conversion of taxis and government vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG), reports parent company Hexagon Composites. Indonesia’s government is facilitating a transition to natural gas as an alternative to diesel and gasoline. Read more »
The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA) carried out a very successful 10th Natural Gas Vehicles & Infrastructure Indonesia Forum and Exhibition, in Jakarta, Indonesia in late March of this year. PT. Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) has inaugurated the restart of the Hino Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Bus Production Line in its factory at Kota Bukit Indah, Purwakarta. I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics, Ministry of Industry officiated at the event in the presence of Toshiro Mizutani – HMMI President Commissioner, Soebronto Laras – HMMI Commissioner, Hiroo Kayanoki – Hino Motor Sales Indonesia (HMSI) President Director and Kazushi Ehara –HMMI President Director as well as other Hino Management members and guests. The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Assoication (ANGVA) has reported on its 5th Annual LNG Transport, Handling and Storage Forum, held in Bali, Indonesia. The Forum, held on 23rd and 24th Feb, was attended by around 80 delegates from local and overseas companies and organizations. A training workshop on “LNG bunkering key compatibility and operational issue”, facilitated by Ms. Elsie Tang, Consultant-Maritime Advisory, DNV GL, was held on 22nd April 2015. Read more »
A Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) carrier vessel being built at the Jiangsu Hantong shipyard in China is to be powered by an integrated Wärtsilä dual-fuel propulsion system. The vessel has been ordered by CIMC ENRIC and designed by CIMC ORIC for end user Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the Indonesian state owned energy company. The order with Wärtsilä was placed during the fourth quarter, 2014. Read more »
A Pertamina CNG (Envogas) filling station
PT Pertamina (Pertamina), Indonesia’s state owned oil & gas company, and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), Indonesia’s largest gas distributor, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the end of January regarding a plan of cooperation to facilitate gas distribution to natural gas refueling stations (SPBG) in Indonesia.
