Karachi’s District Government (CDGK) has announced plans to replace 8,000 buses with CNG buses over the next four years.

Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil, chairing a meeting of the National Highway
and the Motorway Mobile Education Unit and officials of city government
at her office on Wednesday told delegates that the federal government
was extending Rs4.5 billion ($US74.7 million) over the four year
period. She also said that the CDGK had allocated Rs500 million
($US8.32 million) to the project.

Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has also requested the Federal government to
waive duty on the import of reconditioned buses as an incentive to
transporters.
