Malaysia’s Petronas to Add 10 More NGV Refueling Stations by 2014
Petronas NGV Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of state-owned Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas, is to open 10 more natural gas vehicle (NGV) refueling stations, planned for completion by 2014, reports Bernama. Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is testing two mainline diesel-electric locomotives fuelled principally by natural gas in revenue service in northern Alberta. Keith Creel, executive vice-president and chief operating officer, said, “CN launched this locomotive test to explore the use of natural gas as a potential alternative to conventional diesel fuel. Vos Logistics Establishes Sustainable Fleet with Econic LNG Trucks

Independent European logistics service provider Vos Logistics has further greened its transport fleet by taking five new trucks into service that drive on liquefied natural gas (LNG). In the fourth quarter of the year the company will add another six LNG trucks to its fleet, bringing the total number of Mercedes-Benz Econic LNG trucks to 14. LNG trucks can also be driven on LBG (liquefied biomethane or biogas) and have a range of about 1,200 kilometres. They are therefore a sustainable alternative for use in national distribution such as deliveries to urban retailers. Read more »
Atlanta Gas Light Company Executes Service Agreements for 5 New CNG Stations
Atlanta Gas Light Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources and natural gas service provider, has executed service agreements with the City of Atlanta and three commercial operators to open five new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations throughout Georgia. New CNG Station in Northern Peru
Piura, capital city in Peru’s northwest state of Piura, is now to a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling station, implemented to meet the rapidly expanding regional fleet of apprioximately 550 natural gas vehicles (NGVs). The station is the product of an alliance between Gascop (Gas Comprimido del Perú) and fuel supplier and service station operator Primax S.A., reports Piura News. Read more »

German Logistics Company Tests LNG for Fleet Operations

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, based in Osnabrück in northern Germany, has been testing liquefied natural gas (LNG) for suitability as an alternative fuel for its European operations. Together with partners Scania, Iveco and gas station builders Bohlen and Doyen, tests were carried out over a period of four weeks using two Scania and Iveco heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) under full load and real world conditions. The 2012 Swedish Touring Car Championship has been hotly contested all year, with two teams, each racing two biomethane-powered VW Scirocco, helping to create a suspense filled finish. After race seven of an eight-race season Volkswagen Team Biogas (Team biogas.se) driver Johan Kristoffersson needed two wins from the final two races at Solvalla to take out the championship.
