The Asia-Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association (ANGVA) has concluded their search for a new head, appointing Mr Lee Giok Seng to the position of Executive Director for a three year period commencing August 1. Lee has been seconded from PETRONAS where he has been extensively involved with NGV program in PETRONAS since 1990. Lee was the Senior Manager, Operations & Maintenance Department, PETRONAS NGV Sdn Bhd till June 2006. Prior to his secondment to ANGVA, Lee was the Head of New Energy Resources, Group Technology and R&D Management, Research & Technology Division, in PETRONAS.


Volvo Group of Sweden has staged a demonstration of ‘carbon-dioxide-free’ transport, putting seven alternative fuelled demonstration trucks on show, three of which feature methane as a primary fuel. The trucks were exhibited in Stockholm and are equipped with diesel engines that have been modified to operate on seven different types of renewable liquid and gaseous fuels. “Volvo is part of the climate problem, but today we have shown that carbon-dioxide free transports are a possibility and that we as a vehicle manufacturer both can and will be part for the solution to the climate issue,” says Leif Johansson, CEO of the Volvo Group.
