Eden Energy Signs with Chinese University to Research production of Biomass Based Hythane

ASX-listed clean fuel technologist, Eden Energy Ltd., has announced a research agreement with a Chinese university to explore the use of biomass as a base ingredient for production of the Company’s patented hydrogen enriched methane fuel mixture, Hythane®. The agreement is with the Henan Agricultural University of Zheng Zhou in the Henan province in north eastern China.

Pinnacle Awarded Ohio CNG Fuelling Station Contract

Pinnacle CNG Systems has been selected by FirmGreen Energy, Inc. (FGE) for the construction and operation of a new 24-hour public access compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in Grove City, Ohio.  The station is a part of FGE’s $US100 million Green Energy Centre in development adjacent the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill that is operated by the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO).  The CNG is sourced from renewable natural gas derived from processed landfill biogas.

IANGV is holding meetings in Strasbourg at the time of the ENGVA Conference 19 – 21 June 2007.  The schedule of meetings is:

•    Joint IANGV/ENGVA Technical Committees meeting – Tuesday 19 June 8.30 am to 2.00pm or later at the Hilton Strasbourg.  Light lunch will be served.

•    IANGV General Meeting of Members – Fri 22 June 9.00am to 4.00pm

All IANGV members are requested to attend these meetings.  (i.e. direct members of IANGV and members of other affiliated NGV associations).

Farm based reactors to feed major biomethane plant

Sweden continues its march towards energy independence with the opening of two more biomethane driven fuelling stations in Boden and Östersund in the north of the country. The stations follow on from another station commissioned earlier this year in Skellefteå.

GE Energy has released details of their ‘ecomagination’-certified Jenbacher landfill gas engine, powering the world's first commercial landfill gas (LFG)-to-liquid natural gas (LNG) conversion facility designed to create alternative fuel for vehicles. The LNG produced at the new facility is primarily targeted to be used as fuel for mass transit and other large vehicle fleets in the Los Angeles, Calif. region.

Norwegian Group to Build Qld

Liquegas Energy,  a subsidiary of AGR Group, the Norway-based oil technology and services group, has announced its intention to build and operate Australia’s first small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant. The plant is to be fed directly by gas produced from nearby coal seams. The gas will be processed in a 100 tonne per day plant, built at Daandine, 35 km west of Dalby, Queensland, on Australia’s east coast. The LNG product will be transported by road to industrial, transport and power generation customers in Queensland and New South Wales.

Clean Air Power Drives UK Dairy with Dual-Fuel Natural Gas/Diesel Engines

Robert Wiseman Dairies, one of the UK’s leading fresh liquid milk processors, has taken delivery of two DAF Dual-FuelTM gas/diesel trucks from Clean Air Power. As part of the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and fuel costs, Wiseman is using the two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) DAF CF85 340 4×2 tractor units on routes in the north west of England and Scotland.

BAF Earns Full Certification for Ford E-350

On May 30, BAF Technologies announced that it has received California Air Resources Board (CARB) and U.S Environmental Protection Agency  (EPA) certification, including OBD II, for the Ford E350.  The E350 joins the Crown Victoria in achieving full certification using BAF’s CalComp technology, meeting all SULEV requirements.

Cummins Westport

Beijing Public Transport Holdings, Ltd (BPT) has ordered 250 Cummins Westport B Gas Plus engines to power Beijing Jinghua Coach Co. buses. Rated at 230 brake horse-power (bhp) and running on clean-burning compressed natural gas (CNG), these buses will be in addition to the current fleet of CNG-powered buses to showcase next year’s 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. Over 3,000 Cummins Westport natural gas engines are in operation in China today.

Everest Kanto Denies Iranian Manufacturing Plant Rumors

Press reports in India indicating that local compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinder manufacturer Everest Kanto (EKC) is to set up a manufacturing plant in Iran appear to be premature and ‘probably based on rumor’ says Company  Director Puneet Khurana. The company already has 2 plants operating in India and one in Dubai with a Chinese plant due to be established in the third quarter of this year.

DaimlerChrysler Previews Natural Gas Sprinter at UK Commercial Vehicle Show

DaimlerChrysler has given UK fleet operators a taste of the future, displaying a prototype of their Sprinter 316 NGT at the UK Commercial Vehicle Show. Due for release in Europe in the first quarter of next year, Britons are hopeful that they might see a right hand drive version of the vehicle released locally soon after, increasing the chances of natural gas being their choice of alternative fuel.

Dominican Government Promotes Use of Natural Gas Vehicles

Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo

Domincan Republic President, Leonel Fernandez, has reportedly signed a decree declaring that the use of natural gas serves the country’s social, economic and environmental interests. The decree follows the inauguration earlier this month of the country’s first natural gas compression and distribution plant.  Dominican Today reports that the Government and City councils will promote the massive use of natural gas as an alternative to liquid fuels, including for transport.
