China Natural Gas, Inc. has started construction of four new retail natural gas filling stations located in the most populous province of Henan. The Company now has a total of 21 natural gas filling stations with eight in Henan province including the four under construction.

Dynetek Industries Ltd. Enters into Strategic Relationship with DELPHI South America

Producer of compressed gas storage systems, Dynetek Industries Ltd has signed a letter of intent with Delphi Automotive Systems Do Brazil LTDA. (“Delphi SA”). Delphi SA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delphi Corp., of Troy, Michigan, USA. The letter of intent records the intention of Dynetek and Delphi SA to negotiate a commercial agreement to establish an exclusive distributorship arrangement and the prospect for a manufacturing plant in Brazil for South America.

How Did the IANGV Start?
2006 is the 20th anniversary of IANGV. In the recent
weeks, NGV Global has published articles by the first two presidents
Bob Cumming and Wally Parker. Back in 1986, a group of us in New
Zealand decided that it was important at least for the New Zealand NGV
industry at that time to have an international association to deal with
such issues as standards and vehicle manufacturing.

International Standards Development
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is
currently considering a number of changes affecting NGVs. Mr.
Carm Rossi represents the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation (CVEF) on
the gaseous fuels subcommittee (SC 25) of ISO’s Technical Committee 22
on Road Vehicles. Carm chairs Working Group 1 on CNG
connectors. He attended a recent meeting in France and reports

Brazil Steps Up Customer Education
Natural gas vehicle industry leaders are stepping up safety
initiatives following incidents in which drivers have used uninspected
compressed natural gas (CNG) or LPG cylinders on natural gas
installations. Though no deaths resulted from the incidents, both
situations could have easily resulted in fatalities, an eventuality
that the industry plans to head off through increased customer
education.
EcoFuel CNG World Tour
UAE, Dubai
Rainer Zietlow’s attempt to circumnavigate the world driving a
compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelled vehicle has gone into a brief
hiatus for a few days following the successful completion of Stage 4 of
the journey in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Zietlow and his support
team will spend a few days in Dubai while the ‘hero’ CNG VW Caddy and
the support Kombi are shipped to Karachi, Pakistan for the next leg of
the trip.
Gardner Denver Taps GESI
Manufacturer Names Gas Equipment Systems As Authorized packager of CNG Compressors
Illinois-based Gardner Denver has named Southern California’s Gas
Equipment Systems, Inc. as an authorized packager of its compressors
for CNG fueling installations. GESI is expected to begin turning out

Swedish Municipalities Protest Volvo Bi-Fuel Withdrawal
Sweden, Malmö
Seventeen municipal governments in Sweden have joined forces to lobby the new Swedish Government, calling for support of biomethane projects and protesting the recent decision by Volvo Car Corporation to cease production of their bi-fuel CNG gasoline vehicles late next year. Swedish based Chairman of the European Natural Gas Vehicles Association and former Volvo executive, Peter Boisen, says that were it not for the pressures of time, more municipalities would have probably joined the protest.

activities. NHA staff and Codes & Standards Steering Committee
members are voting members of several Technical Committees and Working

Swedish Appetite for Alternative Fuels Continues
Sweden, Stockholm
Sweden’s appetite for alternative fuels shows no sign of abating, with demand for vehicles fuelled by both biomethane and E85 ethanol blends increasing at a rate which has created temporary fuel shortages. ENGVA Chairman and former Volvo Cars executive, Peter Boisen, says the City of Stockholm, which has a quarterly journal dedicated to ‘environmental vehicles’ (Miljöbilar), is reporting the success of policy initiatives in the city.
