Mercedes Supplies Valencia, Spain With NG Refuse Trucks

Mercedes has delivered 12 natural gas powered Econic trucks for refuse collection duties to the City of Valencia. The vehicles are part of a larger order for a range of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The 18 tonne, 280 hp vehicles were chosen by the city for their low emissions.

1,500 Dual-Fuel Systems for Thailand

US Energy Initiatives Corporation has secured orders for 1,500 Dual-Fuel CNG/Diesel conversion kits for Isuzu engines through Autogas (Thailand) Ltd. registered in Thailand as Greengas NGV. Energy Initiatives is also developing a dual fuel system for Nissan 454 series, the Hino H07 series and the Mitsubishi FD series on behalf of Autogas.

CNG Suzuki LingYang Enters Chinese Market

During our activities in the National NGV Engineering Research Center, we have developed this Monofuel Suzuki LingYang vehicle (in Europe known as the Swift (older sedan model)). The Suzuki LingYang is locally produced in Chongqing, China by Suzuki (joint venture ChangAn Suzuki).

It has been developed in 2004/2005 and has already been extensively tested in field tests in Chongqing, China. The first time the vehicle has been on display in 2004 in the Chongqing high-tech fair. The vehicle was still under testing at that moment.

ISO 5 Year Review of Standards Under Way

National Standards Institutes Agreement Sought!

In accordance with procedures of the International Standards Organisation (ISO),
international standards that have been published or confirmed five years previously have to be reviewed by the members of the ISO committee responsible for their development. The systematic review aims at deciding whether these standards should be confirmed, revised, or withdrawn. Voting on this procedure is to be completed by 30 June 2006.

Jinan in Shandong Province builds CNG stations

More than 600 taxis have converted to bi-fuel natural gas/gasoline operation with 3 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations currently supplying fuel for the vehicles in Jinan City.  Shangdong Baijiang Gas Co. is planning to build 3 mother CNG fueling stations in Changqing and several daughter CNG fueling stations in Jinan City. The stations will supply up to 100,000 cubic meters every day, which will basically meet the needs of the vehicles in Jinan City.

CNG LingYang Enters Chinese Market

BAF Technologies Appoints New Regional Sales Manager

Conversion equipment supplier BAF Technologies has appointed Dave Loper to the position of Regional Sales Manager. Loper joins BAF from Hybrid Fuel Systems (now US Energy Initiatives), where he served as Senior Account Manager.  He was responsible for initiating the conversion project of a Sterling truck with a Detroit Series 60 powered diesel engine to dual fuel (CNG / Diesel) for SWACO at their Columbus, OH facility.

Long Island Clean Cities Awards Grants; Most are for NGVs

First Public Natural Gas Station Arrives in Rhode Island
