1st CNG Delivery Truck for Logistic Supplier

June 11, 2008

Acotral's IVECO StralisSpain. Madrid

Acotral introduced its first CNG delivery truck on May 14th for the city of Madrid. The vehicle is a 3 axle, 1st and 3rd steering, 26 t GVW and carries 640 litres of CNG. IVECO’s CNG heavy truck production being based in the Madrid plant is now entering a new and interesting activity in the food distribution. Madrid already has the whole fleet of garbage collection trucks (near 600) running on CNG, 400 CNG urban buses and other CNG cars and vans. 1800 vehicles in the city’s public service run on clean fuels (most of them natural gas). By 2011 the complete fleet will be changed to clean fuelled vehicles, says Ana Botella, Vicemayor and head of the Environmental Department of the Madrid municipality.
